At 25 years of age, I started my first business, Insomnia. It was not my dream to own a business at that age, nor did I feel that I was quite ready...but when is anyone ever ready?
Imagine your sales team sitting in your office discussing the reasons why they didn't make the sales projections for the last quarter. They talk about how hard they have worked, and that they think it is either bad time of year, or something has changed in the market. Furthermore, they say to you that they think your marketing is either not effective or worse, non-existent.
Running highly successful, productive, functioning marketing departments is a challenge at the best of times. Return on investment is always at the back of any competent marketing manager or CMO, and steering all marketing efforts to ensure that not only is the brand being promoted and gaining market share, but it shows up on the balance sheet, is a scorecard that no-one can ignore.

When I first developed Robotic Marketer I knew that I had to connect to a very large audience. No technology can be powerful without valuable feedback. Every piece of feedback, good and bad, helps developers fine-tune their technology to provide a better solution for the end customer.

Does your marketing smell? Find out

By Tegan Addinsall, Melbourne, Marketing Eye Licensee

Business hygiene is just like personal hygiene. If you don’t follow basic personal hygiene routines, chances are you will stink, and the same goes for your marketing efforts.

As a fast growing company, we are hiring new people across marketing, graphic design, software engineering and web development. It's an interesting time as while we have just gotten use to millennials, its now time to dig a little younger and foster growth in graduates.
We are in a hiring phase with our company Marketing Eye and right now I am in Sydney hiring a number of new marketing staff. We are looking for people who can take the business to the next level and are able to fast and efficiently learn how we do business, why we do business and the many things that make up a great marketing resource.
Earlier this year I had the privilege of having a young marketer apply for an internship with Marketing Eye in Sydney. When she walked in the door, other than the fact that she has the stature of a supermodel, I did what I always do when I am around and someone new walks in - I introduced myself.
When it comes to employee appraisals, it is important for the appraisee to look at industry standards, benchmarking and peer group feedback. It's not just managers that know what is happening on the floor and numbers are can never truly reflect an employees contribution to an organisation.

5 Hacks every marketer should know

Every marketer has tricks up their sleeve. If they didn't, they are not trying hard enough. Having been a marketing consultant for many years, I have had the pleasure of rolling up my sleeve and showing the world (well, mostly people in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney) how they too can use some of the tricks of the trade to accelerate their marketing reach.
