Are consumers receptive to mobile adverts for a cheaper phone bill?

Unlockd, a Melbourne-based mobile tech startup just raised an additional $15million, backed by big names including Lachlan Murdoch. This mobile based platform combines the telco and digital advertising worlds to offer mobile users data and discounts in exchange for their attention.

Brand communication via our smartphones is nothing new, however marketing agencies, retailers and other savvy businesses are now making better use of the tool.

According to eMarketer, mobile budgets have increased more than 735% between 2011 and 2014 and spending is expected to rapidly accelerate.

I am sure you have heard many times before my issues with Optus. I can’t believe the bad service continues. They take no responsibility for anything yet again, I have gone 1 month without a mobile phone. Twice in one year – now that’s a record. Last time was 7 weeks thanks to Optus.
