How I’m Becoming a Higher Performing Marketer
For the past 8 months, I have been going to pilates. It’s something that I never did more than ‘on occasion’ for most part only when I arrived from a long-haul flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles. The hangover from the past few years has slowly disappeared and after the first quarter last year, I started to rethink life.

How to adapt to the changing employee
From ice addicts through to people who are unfortunately suffering mental health issues, or even those who just get itchy feet - often... employees can be tricky. Regardless of their station, it is important to see the world from their point of view, as without them no business survives. It's like the chicken and the egg.

The best day, the worse day
I woke up this morning and hopped in my car with a colleague and my niece, and headed for the beach. I felt good. In fact, I felt great. The sun was already blistering hot and after a cold winter in Melbourne, I was soaking up every bit of warmth that Sydney has to offer.
With so much to do today, I decided that I would spend the morning changing things up. That meant the Bondi to Bronte walk, followed by breakfast at Indigo Double Bay and then a trip to the office. I wanted to pinch myself. A healthy start to the day, sunshine and my favourite city in the world, was making me deliriously happy.

Your competitors are beating you, but why?
We spend a lot of time thinking about why a competitor is out-performing one of our clients, who may be smaller, but we never use that as an excuse, in the market.
It a challenge as a small business to grow exponentially, providing quality products and services, and building that brand that everyone resonates with.

Back in the real world of entrepreneurship - thank goodness
It's been a hectic few months and this week has been no different.
With the weekend upon us, I can safely say that the next few months I am only focused on Marketing Eye, technology development and the people who have already been in the incubator and need my support. It's time to pass on the baton for all the things I have become so passionately involved with, and focus on my own backyard - so to speak.

Why your narrative has to change
I've recently changed the narrative of my business. It's not something I took lightly. Re-defining what value you provide to the market place can be game-changing, or business destroying.
If you look at Uber for instance, they could have failed, but yet they succeeded. Is it sustainable? Most probably. Is it worth the market value associated with the business? Not really. Did they not only change their original narrative, but create a new narrative for the entire industry - disruptive in design?

What employees can learn from a Navy Seal
There is one thing that employees can learn from a Navy Seal that will be life changing - and that is to make your bed every morning to perfection. By completing this task, according to Navy Admiral William H. McRaven, who gave a talk to 8000 graduating students from the University of Texas last month, you would have completed the first task of the day.
I watched the video of his speech that clocked up 1.7 million views in 2 weeks on YouTube a few weeks ago and was inspired.

If nothing changes, nothing changes.
A few months ago, I was walking in the park. Seagulls were flying around above me. It was a weird place for them to be as the park is situated at least 10 kilometres from the ocean.
As I looked up, I decided to capture the moment.
The seagulls flew off and I began to think...

I was wrong…and I admit it
When ipads first came out… I was against it. I was so against this new piece of technology that I wrote a blog about it. I read the hype and was completely against people reading old fashioned books on a tablet of any kind whilst they were on holidays. I love books and am passionate about them being around long after the ipad has been superceded.
