Engaging in great conversation
One is a highly successful advertising executive and the other is a very successful businessman who has a clothing chain. Our conversation, like most at this time of year was about what each of us were doing for the holidays.
One was heading to Thailand and the other, to the Gold Coast.
After the businessman left, my friend turned to me and commented on how interesting this person was. I was thinking the same thing. She also commented about his unique ability to communicate with each of us as if we were each the most important person in the world. He listened to what we had to say, asked alot of questions and looked us in the eyes when a question was directed at us.
In business, if we can make every person, from our staff through to the people that buy our products and services, think that they are the most important person in the world – imagine what that would do to your business.
If I could bottle how he communicates… I would.
Think about how you could communicate better to your clients by listening, asking more questions and totally engaging yourself in any and every conversation you have with them.
